Meet Aiswarya

Aiswarya began her dance journey at age five in Kochi, Kerala, training intensely in the classical Indian traditions of Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam.

Over two decades of discipline and stage performance taught her the deep storytelling, hand mudras, and rhythmic mathematics of Indian dance. But she also noticed how intimidating classical dance could feel to newcomers.

While teaching Bollywood dance courses at the University of Bonn, she saw firsthand the transformative power of expressive movement for students and working professionals. That inspired her to create Thaalam: an open, contemporary studio experience where the beauty of Indian movement is shared without judgment or pressure.
